Image via WikipediaLuiz Felipe Scolari, ComIH (born November 9, 1948 in Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil), also known as Felipão ("Big Phil"), is a Brazilian football coach, who led the Brazilian national team to victory in the 2002 World Cup. He has been the head coach of the Portuguese national team since 2003. Since 2002 he is also an Italian citizen.
Scolari is to take over as Chelsea manager on July 1, 2008. This was announced shortly after Portugal's Euro 2008 match against the Czech Republic on June 11, 2008.[1] Many Premier League fans will relish the confrontations between Scolari and Sir Alex Ferguson and have been warned to expect "tantrums" more importantly "triumphs". So the transfer speculation over one of Portuguese football's biggest names is over now and not talking about the future of Ronaldo. Luiz Felipe Scolari is a Blue from July 1st, I am excited about him taking over and I am sure he is of the calibre that will silence the boo boys at Stamford Bridge. He has an impressive record as a manager as England know only too well as in the last three competitions the national team have been undone by Big Phil and his players. With several players linked to be reunited with Mourinho this summer I think that they will have second thoughts now. Players like Carvalho and Deco will consider their futures now, I think it is only a matter of time before Drogba leaves though.
I have been enjoying the Euro's and with the focus off of the appointment of the manager position it's surely to shift to players now. There are a few I would like to see, none more so than David Villa at the Bridge as he looks like he is set to have a big tournament. There's also Ronaldo, obviously that has no chance of happening though ha! Outside of the Euros Kaka has been mentioned but I really don't see AC Milan selling him to us. Then there is the exodus from Barcelona, Deco I have already mentioned but there is also Eto'o. The prospects are looking bright and although talk is good I am looking forward to the action next season. Watch out United!!
