It's cold, it's the weekend and it's the beginning of the Saturdays, after the Christmas break today was back to the usual Saturday morning routine. This week has been very cold although the big freeze temperatures which have sent a chill through the whole county in recent weeks are finally on the way out.
That's not to say that it's time to start parading in the shorts and sandals combination!
Football with my son was as eventful as usual, bless him, he doesn't like the weather and I had to rescue him several times this morning and thaw him out in the warm. He adopted the 'if at first you don't succeed' mentality and managed to play in the match but I rescued him at the end as he looked like he was becoming a snowman!
After football we went to the stables for my daughter to go horse riding, last week she had Pony Club but she wanted to ride today. Ideally I would like her to do both all the time but it works out a small fortune and it would probably be cheaper if I bought her a horse. Luckily she didn't need to take breaks to thaw out so her horse riding remained uninterrupted! She has got her confidence back now with riding and looked in full control today.
Not to be outdone, tonight I'm heading out with some friends for my take on recreational activity. See you on the flipside :)
